Calisson is one of the most famous and most sought-after sweets of Provence. The Calisson (from the Occitan canisson or canissoun) made with a fine paste of candied melon and crushed almonds has been a speciality of Aix-en-Provence since the 15th century.

In the Provençal recipe this paste (made with sugar, almond powder and candied mzlon) is laid on a sheet of unleavened bread and covered with egg icing. With a pastry-cutter it is cut in the shape of an almond and then cooked on a low heat. This speciality is prepared with high-quality ingredients.

Presented here in individual transparent Flow Pack wrapping ici for better conservation, these calissons are delicious confectionary which everyone will enjoy and which will be tasted with tea, a fruit or on their own.

These calissons are sold by weight. There are about 12 pieces for 100g.
